Pongees participates in British Textile Week

Pongees is delighted to be taking part in British Textile Week (9-15 September), which has been organised by the UK Fashion and Textile Association, as a  digital showcase of fabrics from the UK’s leading suppliers.

“We have continued to provide a seamless online service to the industry this year, despite coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Taking part in digital celebrations such as British Textile Week is a great way for us to continue our support for buyers, the industry and textile innovation,” explains Pongees’ managing director Nick Moore.

Nick is passionate about helping fashion designers to bring their ideas to life.

“Even after 20-odd years, I still get excited to see the amazing designs that have been created from our fabrics,” he adds.

For the new season, Pongees predicts that fabrics such as the satin crepes, with or without stretch, medium ribbed silk twills and spotted silk tulles will be popular with British designers.

As individuality is so important, Pongees also believes fabrics that make a good base for printing, bespoke dyeing, hand painting, embroidery or other embellishments such as silk habotais will be popular. These include habotais, marocains and douppions.

We hold more than 1,000 fabrics in stock, which means that it has been ‘business as usual’; the minimum order is 1 metre and we offer a fast, efficient delivery service.

Our London showroom re-opened in the summer and we’ve been pleased to welcome fabric buyers and students by appointment to view our collections in-person.
